Dumpster Rules & Regulations


Regulatory guidelines governing waste disposal practices and the use of waste disposal equipment such as dumpsters is vast and can be extremely complicated to follow.

WNY Dumpster will make every attempt possible to provide guidance and inform our customers regarding these guidelines if and as they change and when it pertains to waste disposal and recycling.

Listed below are some of the most common items found in our every day lives, which are unacceptable and are not permissible in our dumpsters in Buffalo. This list should not be deemed as complete but should be used as a basic guide. Further clarification can be gained by contacting us directly with your questions.

As a waste generator, you are legally responsible for compliance with waste disposal and recycling laws and guidelines as they apply to you and your business.

Unacceptable Waste Items for Dumpsters:

  • Liquids of any kind to include Liquid paint
  • Poisons of any kind to included asbestos
  • Combustibles of any kind to include old gas cans and propane tanks
  • Food waste of any kind
  • Fluorescent light tubes and ballasts
  • Medical Waste
  • Chemicals of any kind
  • No TV's or Electronics

A $200 fine will be imposed on those dumping any of the prohibited items listed above.
